“Getting Florida Students Politically Involved”
September 28, 2015
The James Madison Institute is one of several groups working to get students involved in political issues.”You don’t have to go to Washington to make a difference and you don’t have to be in a legislative seat in the capitol to care about the issues that are going to effect not just your community but that it filters down to you and your family,” said Becky Liner, executive vice president of The James Madison Institute. The organization works with kids as young as elementary school, teaching them the difference between local, state and federal governments. She says, “early involvement is key to getting people civically involved once they become adults.”
