Tallahassee, FL – The James Madison Institute put on the panel discussion for the motivated high school girls of the American Legion Auxiliary Girls State Conference.Representative Marti Coley, Judge Nina A. Richardson, and first female Lieutenant Colonel Kelly Hildreth all spoke to the girls about being prominent women leaders in Florida’s government branches.Rebecca Liner, JMI Executive Vice President: “The main message that we wanted to get across to the young women is the value of public service and getting involved, whether that means running for office or whether that means being an engaged citizen, we like them to have these role models that they can look up to, who have achieved in their individual fields.”The girls in the program are top students in county schools that have shown interest in public service and government positions.http://www.wctv.tv/home/headlines/Girls-State-In-The-Capital-City-211884811.html
