Tallahassee, FL – More than 58,000 delinquents were arrested between 2011 and 2012, according to Florida’s Department of Juvenile Justice.Because of those staggering numbers, The James Madison Institute hosted a debate at the Challenger Learning Center tonight.Invited to debate was Angela Corey, who lead the state’s prosecution against George Zimmerman and Texas Public Policy analyst Vikrant Reddy.”I’ve learned you can’t treat any two juveniles the same way, that there are a lot you have to treat more harshly, but then there are a lot of them that we’ve got to value and try to divert them and get them onto a path of structure and education and hopefully they won’t come back into the criminal justice system.”Corey, a Florida State alum, also said it’s important to have parents, schools and churches involved in kids lives so there is no time for them to get in trouble.http://www.wctv.tv/home/headlines/Angela-Corey-Debates-Role-Of-Government-In-Juvenile-Justice-System–230930351.html
