Commenting on the appointment of Judge Neil Gorsuch to the position of Associate Justice of the Supreme Court, The James Madison Institute's President and CEO Dr. Robert McClure said the following:
At a time when the principles of strict adherence to the Constitution are under consistent attack from all manner of opponent, we are heartened that President Trump has chosen Judge Neil Gorsuch of the United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuitto fill the vacancy on the Supreme Court of the United States. Judge Gorsuch’s credentials are superb, his judicial philosophy above reproach, and his temperament well-suited for the highest court in the land.
We encourage both of our home Senators, Marco Rubio and Bill Nelson, to afford Judge Gorsuch a vote of the full Senate so that all members have the chance topublicly declare their judgement of his qualifications.
