“James Madison Institute Calls WOTUS A Threat To Private Land Owners”
August 20, 2015The Florida based James Madison Institute released a study on the Environmental Protection Agency’s Waters of the U.S., or Clean Water rule, calling it a threat to private property owners. The study released Wednesday says “the rule is so broad and vague that federal regulators will be licensed to micromanage property owners who are far away from genuinely navigable waters.” The expanded authority, according to the study, means property owners must contend with a new federal layer of compliance and permitting before altering their property use and that the permits will prove costly and a detriment to the economy. The study concludes that according to the U.S. Supreme Court, sudden and expansive interpretations of long-standing laws are unreasonable and should be met with skepticism. The Waters of the U.S. rule will take in effect August, 28th.Article: http://www.680kfeq.com/2015/08/20/james-madison-institute-calls-wotus-a-threat-to-private-land-owners/
