Commenting on the 2018 Florida Election, The James Madison Institute’s President and CEO Dr. Robert McClure said the following:
The James Madison Institute congratulates Governor-elect Ron DeSantis for becoming Florida’s next Governor, and congratulations go out as well to Lieutenant Governor-elect Jeanette Nunez, Attorney General-elect Ashley Moody, Agriculture Commissioner-elect Matt Caldwell, Chief Financial Officer-elect Jimmy Patronis, Senator-elect Rick Scott, and the newly-elected and incumbent members of the Florida House and Senate.
The leadership and staff at JMI are committed to working with each of you over the course of your time in office to promote the principles that have helped make Florida the greatest state in which to reside, visit, and do business. We look forward to promoting good policy and engaging in robust debate, and it is our fervent hope that Florida will be an even better state as a result.
To everyone who ran in the 2018 Florida Election, whether you emerged victorious or came up short this time, we would would like to thank you for your service and dedication to the people of the Sunshine State.
