Clay Ingram

On this episode of Pundits on the Porch, Dr. Bob McClure interviews Clay Ingram, the CEO of Volunteer Florida.

Clay is a graduate of Florida State University, where he received his undergraduate degree in general communication and was a member of the 1999 National Championship football team. He served in the Florida House of Representatives from 2010 to 2018, representing his hometown of Pensacola and surrounding areas. Before being appointed to the position of CEO of Volunteer Florida in January 2019, he worked as the CEO of the Greater Pensacola Chamber of Commerce.

Volunteer Florida (officially recognized as the Florida Commission on Community Service) receives over $43 million in federal and state funding to support efforts to expand national service, promote disaster resiliency and advocate for volunteerism in Florida.

Volunteer Florida has recently announced, “VOLUNTEER CONNECT,” the state’s official volunteer opportunities platform. During the summer of 2019, nonprofits with 501(c)(3) status and government entities can register, participate in instructional webinars and training, and begin posting future volunteer opportunities. LEARN MORE ABOUT PARTNERSHIP

The platform will be available for public use (to potential volunteers) in fall 2019, and partner registration will be ongoing.
