JMI on the Move
With the 2012 Legislative Session – and Special Session – complete, the Institute is now preparing to officially and literally move into its new downtown Tallahassee headquarters during the month of May. It’s not quite a move back to the 1830s, but it sure feels like it.“This is a beautiful old building, and we’ve given it a nice upgrade,” said Director of Operations Becky Liner. There is a fresh coat of paint on all the walls, new wood flooring and chandeliers in keeping with the historic nature of the building, among many other upgraded features. “We wanted to have an ‘old Florida’ theme with this building,” said Institute President Bob McClure. “The bones of the building were in great shape, it was just about sprucing it up.”As of this writing, boxes are being packed at the Institute’s “old” headquarters on Delta Boulevard in preparation for the move. Stay tuned to the Institute’s website, emails, and the next edition of the Messenger for a full update as well as news on grand opening activities.“We’re really getting ready to shake things up in Florida’s capital city more than ever,” said Development Director Francisco Gonzalez. “We’re just asking our members and friends to bear with us throughout the month of May as we make this move. While we’re shaking up downtown Tallahassee, please pardon our dust.”Thanks in large part to hundreds of Floridians statewide, JMI’s Columns Capital Campaign has been a great success. More than $1.6 million of the $2 million campaign goal has been met. To contribute to the Columns Capital Campaign, please contact Francisco Gonzalez at 1-866-340-3131 or email firstname.lastname@example.org. Naming opportunities are still available.
