After graduating magna cum laude from Florida State University with a Bachelors of Science degree in Biology/Chemistry Minor,Tanja worked with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement for twelve years as a Forensic Scientist specializing in the examination and analysis of textile and fiber evidence. After several years as a full-time homemaker, Tanja returned to the work force part-time, first with FDLE as a curriculum writer for the Law Enforcement Basic Recruit Training Program and then as the Worship and Music Coordinator at St. John’s Episcopal Church. She has now returned to a full-time career with The James Madison Institute as the Director of Communications and Administration.
Committed to her husband and children and their home, Tanja is an active soccer and lacrosse mom, gardener, artist, and homework coach. Also committed to volunteerism in her community and church since grade school, Tanja is currently involved with Leon High School, Raa Middle School, St. Peter’s Anglican Church, the Governor’s Mansion Docents, and the Mountain Dew Cloggers.
